Egyptian league giants, Zamalek, have sealed an 18-month deal with former Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, for $1.35 million.
The contract will see the Portuguese coach pocket $75,000 monthly. He steps in as replacement for Christian Gross, a former Tottenham Hotspur manager, who was dismissed after struggling to meet the expectations of the 14-time Egyptian champions.

Zamalek are hoping to regain their competitive edge in both domestic and continental competitions under Under Peseiro who led Nigeria to the last AFCON in Cote d Ivoire where Nigeria finished as runners up behind hosts and winners Elephants of Cote d Ivoire.

Peseiro is no novice to Egyptian football, having previously managed Zamalek rivals Al Ahly between 2015 and 2016.
Other clubs that have been managed by the 64-year-old coach include Sporting CP and Porto.
Recall that Zamalek edged out Enyimba in the CAF Confederation after the Nigerian side lost 3-1 in Cairo, after playing out 2-2 draw in the first leg in Nigeria.
