The 39-man-squad made up of five goalkeepers, 10 midfielders, 10 defenders and 14 forwards saw the return of Ahmed Musa and inclusion of four other league players. Reigning African Footballer of the year and Atalanta strong man, Ademola Lookman expectedly featured prominently in the strikers list with Glatasaray hit man, Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Iheanacho among others.

The defence sees the return of experienced players such as William Troost-Ekong, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Calvin Bassey, while Ifeanyi Onyebuchi (Rangers International) receives his first call-up, adding new energy to the backline.
