The company which has more than 25 years of experience in servicing the financial advisory and capital raising needs of various corporate and government organisations is registered as a capital market holding company with the Securities and Exchange Commission in Nigeria.

Chioke in his address stated that the almost three decades journey of the company in the financial world, has not been easy but the secret of its success story has been resilience, teamwork and diligent disposition of staff which led to positive results over the years.

The GMD said there are still a lot of opportunities in investment banking in Nigeria yet to be fully exploited and investment opportunities for players in the industry.

On their service expansion, he said, “We have plans to go internationally and we have already begun the process of setting up offshore entities that will allow us from there begin to make acquisitions in different parts of Africa to allow the business to get the scale and capacity it needs for more growth momentum going forward.”

The company also launched its 2022 Nigerian banking sector report which is the 17th edition. The report reviewed activities in the Nigerian banking industry, the global banking sector performance outlook; the global economic outlook; reviewed Monetary policy (both global and domestic); and examined the financial sector regulatory environment outlook. All planks, looked at the impacts on the economy, challenges and opportunities to be explored and the necessary measures (both short-term and long-term) that need to be adopted by political and economic leaders to achieve the best.

Commenting on the 2022 banking Sector report, former chairman of First Bank Nigeria, Mrs. Ibukun Awosika who gave a keynote, remarked that the banking sector report by Afrinvest, as always, provided an in-depth analysis of issues in the Nigerian banking sector, adding that it identified challenges and opportunities for the future.

Mrs. Awosika who is the Founder and CEO of The Chair Centre Group, further stated that Nigeria needs a type of political leadership that would be able to create an impact in the lives of the people. Such political leadership, she stressed, was needed to be able to deal with the challenges identified in the report.

She lamented that there has been a massive movement of Nigerians, especially the youth out of the country which has grave implications in terms of the depletion of human capital. The business leader said such mass migration is due to the harsh economic system and warned that in a few years time, Nigeria will encounter a serious labour crisis in critical sectors as already being experienced in the education and health sectors.

“If we do not have a courageous leadership devoid of corruption and be able to tackle the challenges, we are heading no where,”  Awosika stated.

Afrinvest management also launched an app called Optimus, for digital investment.   It is a financial technology solution platform that helps customers harmonise banking, wealth management and brokerage needs in a simple and transparent fashion to reach the peak of their finances.

Chioke said it is a form of neobank platform that offers innovative financial services to customers.
