Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has ordered a temporary suspension of helicopter landing levy imposed on airline operators.

Keyamo, who made this known in a post on his X handle on Saturday, said the decision followed a complaint by executives of the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) who called for a review of the levy.

AON made the complaint during a working visit to the Minister on Thursday.

He said a committee comprising representatives from the government and other critical stakeholders will be constituted to look into the issues raised and make their recommendations within a month.

Keyamo said: “On Thursday, this week, members of the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) paid me a working visit where they made a case for the review of the Helicopter Landing Levy imposed on their members.

“I consequently temporarily suspended its enforcement until a committee comprising of the Govt side and other critical stakeholders look into the issues raised and make their recommendations within a month.
