What Happened To The Balance Of Dollar Rain At Chivido2024?

So many things happen at a wedding. What happens may differ depending on the calibre of people getting married, but be rest assured that there will be scintillating stories after every wedding.

Since the ‘wedding of the Century’ if you like between Nigerian music Super Star and Afrobeats sensation, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly called Davido and Super chef wife, Chioma, stories have continued to flow as fallout from the wedding held on 25th June 2024, at the Eko Hotel, attended not only by Creme dela Creme of the society but indeed Creme dela Creme dela Creme (forgive my coinage).

It was easier to count the number of shakers and movers in the society who were not there than to attempt to count those who were there. So it is absolutely unnecessary to begin to name names.

But one of the surprises of the fallout was the alarm raised by the music icon, that the money he and his beautiful wife took home did not tally with the amount that was sprayed at the event.

The wedding as captured before was attended by dignitaries not just from Nigeria but around the world, which implies that it is likely that it was not only our dear naira that was sprayed, even dollars, euros  and pounds  featured prominently during the spraying session

Commenting under a video posted by a blogger and former musician, Tunde Ednut, of guests spraying him money during his wedding, Davido stated that the money sprayed at his wedding didn’t tally with the amount he and his wife took home.

He wrote, “The money sprayed at our wedding didn’t tally with the amount we took home.”

The statement left many wondering what could have happened to money sprayed on the Omo Baba Olowo exponent.

So many things happen at weddings of ‘ordinary people.’ From fried meat missing in transit, to hoarding of food by ‘notorious sharers, to emptying the content of a plate into a bag and claiming not to have been served etc, but I bet you can’t get that in a wedding like that of Davido, dubbed ‘wedding of billionaires’, that the world witnessed in Lagos on 25th June.

So what really happened to the balance of the sprayed money, who’s got it?

There is this random musing among party goers that some people wear shoes that have special stickers that can attract and hide notes under the shoes.

Did such people attend the wedding? The shoe it is also understood, conceals the notes so well that looking at the legs you can’t see any edge of the money outside. So experts in this go for big notes like the ‘Nigerian dollar'(one thousand naira note) and dollars, euros and pounds.

Where Did The Money Go?

Imagine successfully sticking four hundred dollars under the left shoe and four hundred under the right shoe what will that amount to? We are talking about eight hundred dollars or N1.2 million at the rate of N1, 500 to the dollar.

Well, assuming this calibre of experts were not there, could a bag have gone missing in transit between the spraying point at packing the money in bags or cartons or whatever container may have been used?

Did people ask for change into smaller denominations? I doubt considering the calibre of people that attended the wedding, because ‘give me change’ is another way of pilfering.

Those giving change can use eye contact to give their ‘personal persons’ more money than they actually deserve with understanding that the “padded sum” will be shared say 50-50 or 30-70 depending on the agreement.  What do you think could have happened?
