President Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday evening condemned the torture-to-death experience of young Sylvester Oromoni and gave the assurance that his killers would face the full weight of the law.
The President, in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Shehu Garba, which was obtained by Prime Business Africa, observed that “the nation has been gripped by the news of the tragic incident at Dowen College, in Lagos with morbid details constantly emerging of how our young son, Sylvester Oromoni (Junior) met his death.”
Condemning the killing of young Sylvester, President Buhari described the 11-year-old victim of hostel bullying as one of Nigeria’s “bright youngsters doing excellently in school, bringing joy to the family.” He said that if the incident was truly arising from bullying or cultism, he would assure that it must act as a trigger leading to a permanent solution to the recurring problem.
