The awareness campaign with the theme “Breaking barrier towards an inclusive University for all,” will hold at the University’s Faculty of Arts Hall at 10 AM.

In a chat with Prime Business Africa, president of the association, Chukwuebuka Martins, said the campaign is geared towards “raising awareness within the University community that disability is a distinct character not a barrier, and to promote the  development of appropriate services through policy and practice to benefit Students with special needs and the university community at large.”

According to Mr. Martins the association which has been in existence for over a decade has been trying to host an event of this magnitude but due to unforeseen circumstances, the event has not held.

However, “God has made it possible for every student with disability to air their voices where every staff and students of the University will be present come Thursday,” he said.

Expressing her gratitude to God for making the event possible, the Vice-president of the Association, MS. Joy Michael said: “I am really glad this event is finally holding after days of uncertainties and planning. Let everyone make it to the Faculty of Art hall on Thursday,” she said.
