UN, Sterling One Foundation To Co-Host Africa Impact Summit

The Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS) 2023 is set to take place in Lagos this August, thanks to a partnership between the United Nations (UN) and Sterling One Foundation.

The event, scheduled for August 10-11 at the Eko Convention Center, will bring together key stakeholders in African development, including corporate executives, impact investors, and experts from various United Nations bodies and donor agencies.

Mrs. Olapeju Ibekwe, CEO of Sterling One Foundation, emphasized the importance of the summit in creating a collaborative platform for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 and Agenda 2063.

ASIS aims to provide a forum for stakeholders in the African development landscape to share ideas, insights, and plans.

The summit will address critical challenges across various sectors, including climate action, circular economy, health, education, youth empowerment, and renewable energy.

He expressed delight at the timely and relevant nature of the summit. Given the global challenges posed by the pandemic and other crises, there is an urgent need to rescue and accelerate the achievement of the SDGs in Nigeria and across the continent.
