Twitter, has experienced a 3.5% increase in active usage, according to Elon Musk. This news comes as Facebook launched a Twitter-like app called Threads. Despite the hype surrounding its new rival, Twitter has managed to maintain its active user base and continue its growth trajectory.
Musk’s data indicates that Twitter’s global active usage seconds rose by 3.55% week over week, reaching a total of 339.06 billion as of Thursday, July 13, 2023.

Introduction of Ad Revenue Sharing
Coinciding with the release of user data, Twitter announced the commencement of ad revenue sharing with content creators. This development is expected to further incentivize users to stay on the platform.

Twitter is now offering creators a share of the ad revenue generated from ads served in replies to their posts. To be eligible for the program, creators must subscribe to Twitter Blue and have earned more than 5 million tweet impressions per month over the last three months.
Creator Payouts and Impressions
The first round of creator payouts, amounting to $5 million, will be cumulative from February onwards and will be delivered via Stripe. Several creators have already shared their payment amounts.
Writer Brian Krassenstein, with around 750,000 followers, reported receiving $24,305. SK, a creator with approximately 230,000 followers, claimed to have earned $2,236. Political commentator Benny Johnson, boasting 1.7 million followers, stated that his earnings amounted to $9,546. Twitter determines payouts based on tweet impressions.
Eligibility and Requirements
To qualify for payouts, content creators must be subscribed to Twitter Blue or be a verified organization. They must also have achieved a minimum of 5 million impressions on their posts for each of the last three months and pass a human review for Creator Monetization Standards. Additionally, creators will need to open a Stripe account, as Twitter currently works with Stripe for payouts.
