An aspirant for the position of local government chairman in Enugu State, Ejike Ugwueze, was reportedly shot dead by gunmen.
Ugwueze, who was among the contestants in the Isi-Uzo Local Government election, was murdered on Friday night while driving along Neke Odenigbo, a community in Enugu East local government area (LGA) of the state.

The bodies of 5 workers who died from the collapse of a building in a construction site in Obingwu community, Ukwa West LGA of Abia State has been recovered.
The victims were reported to have been trapped when a three-storey building still under construction collapsed on them.
9. Lady Arrested for Stabbing Partner over ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ Proceeds
A 27-yr-old lady identified as Oluchi Nzemechi, from Uzoagba in Ikeduru Local Council Area of Imo state has been arrested by the Imo state Police command for stabbing her partner, Kelechi Nzemechi, to death in Imo State.
According to the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Henry Okoye, who spoke to newsmen while parading the suspect, she stabbed her partner for failing to give her a part of an alleged 250 million Rupiah from the money they got through internet fraud.

Maureen Esiri, ex wife of Nollywood actor, Blossom Chukwujekwu, has said that she regrets marrying the actor.
