According to a statement by the NGF’s spokesman, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, the virtual engagement is scheduled for Thursday, 19th January 2023.

Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has once again declared that the Commission is ready to conduct the 2023 general elections.
Prof. Yakubu stated this on Tuesday during his appearance at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) in London where he spoke on ‘Nigeria’s 2023 Elections: Preparations and Priorities for Electoral Integrity and Inclusion.’ Read more.
5. Nigeria Govt To End Oild Bloc Licensing In April
The Nigerian government has said the ongoing licensing for seven deep offshore open oil blocs, which commenced on 3rd January, would end in April 2023.
The Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) chief executive officer, Mr Gbenga Komolafe, confirmed the timeline at a pre-bid conference in Lagos.
6. Nigeria Has Strong External Reserves To Withstand Global Recession – FG
Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, has stated that Nigeria has enough foreign exchange reserves to withstand a global recession in 2023.
The Minister stated this on Tuesday during an interview with Arise News Channel on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
7. Debt: DMO Set to Raise N1.2trn Via Bonds In Q1’23
Nigeria’s Office (DMO) has said it will propose to raise N1.2 trillion through FGN bonds in the first quarter of the year 2023.
This was disclosed in the DMO’s FGN Bonds issuance calendar for Q1 2023.
8. Atiku, Tinubu, and Obi Clash Over the 2023 Presidency
Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; and that of Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, on Tuesday engaged in verbal clashes over the same-faith ticket for the 2023 poll.
The candidates spoke at their separate campaign outings.
While Atiku and Obi’s campaigns opposed the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the APC, describing it as divisive and a disaster, the APC countered that the track records of its candidates and the solution-driven and all-inclusive progressive programmes they have for Nigerians would prevail.
The APC criticised how Atiku emerged as the presidential candidate of the PDP saying that it was contrary to the North-South power-sharing arrangement and that he is not a unifier but a divider.

Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment has empowered the Congress of University Academics (CONUA) and the National Association of Medical Doctors in Academics (NAMDA) to fully operate as trade unions in the education sector.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige issued the labour Unions copies of their certificate of registration on Tuesday in Abuja
Ngige noted that the registration of the two unions followed due process and urged security and other relevant agencies to accord them their rights and privileges.
