1. Why Fuel Scarcity Persists Across Nigeria – Marketers
The Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria, has attributed the lingering fuel scarcity in the country to high costs of vessels and inadequate trucks to deliver petroleum products from depots to filling stations across Nigeria. The marketers explained that this high logistics and exchange rates continues to put pressure on their operations. Read more

The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Budget and National Planning, has said that it is conducting a mid-term review of the National Development plan. 4. Impeachment: Ondo Deputy Governor Writes CJ
The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has written to the chief judge of the state, Ayedun to stop the House of Assembly from going ahead with the proceedings seeking to remove him from office. He reminded the CJ of a subsisting court order that restrained the House from embarking on such an exercise.
5. Cholera Outbreak: UNICEF Builds Toilets, Boreholes in Borno IDP Camp
The United Nations Children’s Fund has disclosed that it built toilet facilities and 240,000 litre capacity solar boreholes to stop the cholera outbreak at Ggass IDP camp in Mafa local Government Area of Borno State. The Ggass IDP camp has a population of 33,140 individuals and 6,643 households and has been a cholera outbreak since its establishment in 2016.
6. Kogi APC Suspends Guber Campaign to Mourn Slain Member
The All Progressives Congress (APC), has suspended its campaign for the Nov 11 Kogi State Governorship Election. This comes as a mark of respect for MS Khadijat Yahaya, a member of the party, who allegedly lost her life after a clash between supporters of the Social Democratic Party and those of the APC in Koton Karfe on September 29.
7. Eight killed in Osun Communal Clash, Residents Flee
Eight people were killed in a communal clash involving the people of Ilobu and Ifon communities in Osun state on Thursday. They were said to have been hit by stray bullets fired by the security operatives deployed to the affected communities.

9. Ex-NBA President Akpata Joins the Edo Governorship Race
Immediate past president of the Nigerian Bar Association, Olumide Akpata, has declared his intention to contest the Edo State governorship election on the platform of the Labour Party on September 21, 2024.
Akpata said he has the capacity and experience to lead the people and he also chose to contest on the platform of LP because it is the only people oriented political party.
10. Interior minister wants prisoners to grow their own food
The Minister of Interior, has sought a partnership with the Nigeria incentive-Based risk sharing system for agricultural lending to secure funds for the engagement of inmates in farming activities.
