1. ‘A Battle of Records: Atiku Abubakar Quest for Tinubu’s Academic Credentials Sparks controversy’

The All Progressive Congress criticized Atiku Abubakar, the People Democratic Party presidential candidate, for trying to obtain President Tinubu’s Academic results from Chicago state university. The APC believes this action is a result of ” Post-election defeat disorder”.

2. 17 Independent Power Distributors get Licenses, 10 Operational

The federal government has issued licenses to 17 independent electricity distribution network operators, among which 10 are currently operational, the government announced on Tuesday. The government revealed this while providing a breakdown of the country’s power distribution segment.

 

3. Jigawa Police arrest Illegal Firearms Supplier

The police in Jigawa State have arrested six Nigerians suspected of being involved in the supply of firearms, acts of vandalism, and motorcycle theft. The Assistant Public Relations Officer Of The Command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq explained that during interrogation, the suspects admitted to participating in the sale and distribution of firearms in both Kano and Jigawa states.

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, made a crucial observation about the poor state of federal, state and local government roads in Nigeria. Umahi’s call for contractors to use concrete technology instead of asphalt.

 

5. Terrorists Attack: Kastina govt Condoles with COAS

The Kastina state governor, Dikko_Radda, on Wednesday, condoled with the chief of army staff, Lt.Gen.Taoreed, over the death of a soldier, Mohammed Tijani. He died in the course of current efforts to tackle terrorism. The governor offered heartfelt prayers to the deceased and was also said to have footed the medical bill of a victim of a recent terrorist attack.

The Group Executive of First Bank said the forum was not only to help the distributors sustain their business, but also to ensure availability of cement in the Nigerian building industry.

 

7. New Senate Rule Restricts President, Deputy Seat to Ranking Members

The senate leadership on Tuesday pushed through an amendment to its standing rules. Only ranking members can stand for elections and be voted into the office of president and Deputy president of the senate. This is coming just two weeks after the 10th senate suffered what many believe is an impeachment move against the senate president.

The lawmakers unanimously agreed that technical knowledge drives the world and with the skills provided, youths would be empowered adequately to fend for themselves.

10. Ministerial Screening: SENATE Begins Screening of 3 Nominees

The Senate has begun the screening of three new ministerial nominees nominated by President Tinubu at its resumed plenary today. The nominees that are currently being screened include: Balarebe Abbas from Kaduna State, DR Jamila Ibrahim from Kwara State and MR Ayodele Olawande from Ondo State.
