President Bola Tinubu has appointed the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, as his Chief of Staff.
This was made known during the security meeting between the president and service chiefs at the State House on Thursday.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelWith the appointment, Gbajabiamila who is yet to receive his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), would have to forgo his election into the House of Representatives for the sixth term.
He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2003. He represents the Surulere I Federal Constituency of Lagos State.
He was the Minority Leader of the House from June 2007 – June 2015 and assumed office as Speaker in 2019.
