Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Tuesday, 31st January, failed to show up for a meeting he scheduled with the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and also Traditional rulers in the state.

Tinubu, who was in Awka, the state capital on Tuesday, for the APC presidential campaign rally, had scheduled to hold separate meetings with Governor Soludo and the Anambra State traditional rulers but didn’t honour any of them, a source confirmed to Prime Business Africa (PBA).

The source informed PBA that Tinubu had sent a circular through the State’s Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs, to see all the traditional rulers on Tuesday, at the office of the Secretary to the Government of Anambra State by 10 am.

“All the traditional rulers gathered at the venue but Tinubu didn’t show up.

“Even the governor was also expecting him but he didn’t show,” the source said.

Tinubu, while addressing APC supporters at the presidential campaign rally held at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, promised to transform Anambra State into the industrial hub of the country if elected next month.

The APC presidential flag bearer said he would develop Anambra in line with the dreams of the late Chuba Okadigbo, an indigene of the state who was a senate president between 1999 and 2000.

He also promised to address environmental challenges in the Southeast such as gully erosion.

Tinubu did not fail to throw jabs at his fellow presidential contestants, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party.  He described Atiku as a liar and Obi as a betrayer.

“We are not like PDP that forgot your rail line. They are liars. When you hear Atiku use the word and say “Wallahi talahi,” what is in his head is “na lie I lie.” Anytime you hear him say, “Walahi talahi,” just reply and say, “na lie I lie.”

“The man who left here, he calls himself Peter Obi. We read in the bible that before the cock crows, he will deny Jesus Christ. Is it not true? So how can he keep his promise to you? He can not prove a point. Has Bola Tinubu not proved a point? Did I close any market? Did I kill anyone? I’m a thinker and a doer, I even tamed the Atlantic,” Tinubu stated at the campaign ground.
