The Publisher of The Guardian, Lady Maiden Ibru, has congratulated the Publisher of Prime Business Africa, Dr. Marcel Mbamalu, on his 54th birthday.

In a heartfelt message, Mrs. Ibru praised Dr. Mbamalu’s dedication, perseverance, and outstanding contributions to the media profession. She prayed for continued good health and fulfilment of his life’s desires.

“Congratulations, Dr. Mbamalu, on your 54th birthday. May the Lord continue to sustain and keep you in good health. May you live a long and fulfilling life,” Mrs. Ibru stated.

Her message followed similar felicitations from former presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu and Professor of Political Economy, Pat Utomi, who commended Mbamalu’s unwavering commitment to journalism practice and prayed for God to grant him the grace of long life and good health.

They noted that he continues to inspire others through his noble contributions in the profession.

Dr. Mbamalu, a renowned media scholar and communication consultant, has had a distinguished career spanning over two decades. He worked at The Guardian for 17 years, rising through the ranks to become News Editor and Deputy Editor before establishing Prime Business Africa in 2021.

Under Dr. Mbamalu’s leadership, Prime Business Africa has rapidly gained global recognition, providing in-depth analysis of socioeconomic and political issues across Africa.

A strong advocate for bridging the gap between academia and industry, Dr. Mbamalu has been engaging in academic activities, sharing his expertise with budding journalists. He also founded the Prime Business Africa Journalism Mentorship Project, which provides Mass Communication students with practical training in journalism.

Dr. Mbamalu’s notable achievements in the media industry earned him a spot among the 11 journalists selected worldwide for the 2023 Jefferson Fellowship. He was the only African representative in the program, which explored inequality in the US and Asia.

Dr. Mbamalu holds a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Science, and PhD in Media Studies.
