Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava performed the award-winning song on the Oscars stage while Rihanna delivered a short, moving rendition of the Black Panther theme song.

After rendering a dazzling performance of her latest hit single, ‘Lift Me Up,’ earlier that night, Rihanna’s fans, were hoping she would return to the stage to accept the award for Best Original Song for the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ tune (co-penned by the movie’s director Ryan Coogler as well as Tems and Ludwig Goransson).

In addition to Rihanna and Tems almost making history as the first Black females born outside of the United States to win an Oscar, Rihanna would have been one step closer to EGOT status.
