Cape Verde’s Ivania Moreira put the home side ahead barely eight minutes played in the game but Esther Okoronkwo who scored a brace in the first leg in Abuja on Thursday restored parity in the 62nd minute.

Falcons’ stand-in captain Rasheedat Ajibade settled the contest in added time.

The Super Falcons are making their 15th consecutive appearance in the tournament next year and become the 12th team to qualify for the tournament after host Morocco (automatic qualification) South Africa, Algeria, Tanzania, Ghana, Botswana, DR Congo, Senegal, Zambia, Tunisia and Mali bagged their qualification to the tournament.

The 15th edition of the biennial African women’s football tournament will be held in Morocco in July next year.
