All roads lead to the Nest of Champions, sometimes called the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium today, as the Super Eagles take on Mediterranean Knights in continuation of their 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

The Eagles who are already in the driving seat in Group D where they lead with four points in two matches, thanks to victory over Benin Republic and a draw against Rwanda, are focused on earning three points against the visiting Knights today, to make the return leg on Tuesday in Libya something close to icing on the cake.

The Austin Eguavoen tutored boys now are eager to offer renewed hope to soccer loving Nigerians who see qualification for the Nations and the World Cup as non-negotiable task that must be done.

Missing the last World Cup in Qatar after two legged play-off against Black Stars of Ghana was not funny but finishing second at the last AFCON in Cote d Ivoire was considered good enough at least to signal a desire and hunger to get back to form.

Although Eguavoen and his consortium of assistants will be without Galatasaray new man, Victor Osimhen, the team is not lacking in fire power with Ballon d Or nominee, Ademola Lookman, still in his killer mood since the last AFCON. Returnee, Taiwo Awoniyi, is good to go with Kelechi Iheanacho dubbed ‘Senior Man’ all battle ready to rattle the Knights in front of the home fans today.
