The usual rivalry between Nigeria and neighbouring Ghana is set to continue as qualifiers for the next edition of Championship of African Nations (CHAN) takes the front burner.
CHAN is an exclusive biennial continental championship for players plying their trade in the African leagues. The next edition, the 8th in the series takes place in February 2025 across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Black Stars B it will be recalled stopped their Nigerian counterparts from reaching the African Nations Championship finals in 2009 and 2023 respectively.

And talking about stopping the Eagles when it mattered most, recall that the Black Stars stopped the Super Eagles from making it to the last World Cup in Qatar after winning two legged play-off in Kumasi and Abuja leading to the event.
Ahead of the double header, Super Eagles Head Coach Austin Eguavoen who doubles as Coach of Super Eagles Team B otherwise called CHAN Eagles has invited 30 players to camp which opens on Wednesday at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun Stat
Notable among players invited include experienced midfielder Rabiu Ali from Kano Pillars, who has made a significant impact this season with eight goals. He is joined by Remo Stars’ goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, Rivers United’s defender Steven Mayo, Papa Daniel from Niger Tornadoes and Sunday Megwo from Abia Warriors.
Also on the list are Enyimba’s goalkeeper Henry Ozoemena, Kazeem Ogunleye from Enugu Rangers, and Anas Yusuf,from Nasarawa United.
