Super Eagles and Atalanta talisman, Ademola Lookman, is set to join Nwankwo Kanu, Finidi George, and Celestine Babayaro, as winners of UEFA Super Cup if he succeeds in lifting the trophy tonight.
Lookman’s Atalanta who clinched the Europa league title at the expense of Bayer Luverkusen last season are pitched against UEFA Champions League champions, Real Madrid, in what promises to be a cracker just before the kickoff of the new season.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelPrime Business Africa reports that Atalanta defeated Bayer Leverkusen, which parades Victor Boniface 3-0 to win the Europa League with Lookman, accounting for the hat-trick of the match. Tonight’s showdown is billed for 8pm at the National Stadium in Warsaw.
With Gianluca Scamacca, Giorgio Scalvini and Nicolò Zaniolo injured, and Teun Koopmeiners left out over his transfer request to Juventus, Lookman is likely to be the arrow head in tonight’s encounter.
Speaking ahead of the match, Lookman who was impressive for the Super Eagles during the last Nations Cup, despite Super Eagles second place finish in Cote d Ivoire, said “It’s not just me, but I think the whole squad is excited about the occasion. We deserve to be here through our hard work and perseverance. Wednesday night is another chance to show that,” he added.

“Madrid is a top team of top players, who are ready at any moment. I don’t think there’s any good time to face Real Madrid. Obviously, they have their powers, but we also have quality.
“We’re very pleased to have our fans here, to make the trip. We’ll do everything in our power to win the game. We’re all looking forward to working hard.”
Real Madrid who recently added dream player and former PSG star, Kylian Mbappe, to their squad as well as Brazilian teenager, Endrick will be hoping to unleash them against Atalanta, even as they prepare for next La Liga season.
