Stock Market Gainers Earn N71.94bn, Unity Bank, Cutix Among Losers’ List

The gainers in the stock market on Monday, 26 June, pocketed N71.94 billion, as the Nigerian bourse capitalisation increased from N32.23 trillion to N32.30 trillion.

The All-Share Index grew by 129.25 basis points to 59,335.88 ASI, rising from 59,206.63 ASI.

At the end of trading, 552.68 million shares, worth N13.05 billion, were traded on Monday in 8,052 deals, against the 627.87 million shares, worth N9.15 billion, that were exchanged by investors in 6,953 deals.

Top five gainers 

  • Tantalizer’s share appreciated by 10 per cent to rise from N0.20 kobo to N0.22 kobo per share.  
  • Ikeja Hotel grew by N0.30 kobo, up from N3 to N3.30 kobo per share.  
  • Academy ended trading with N2.20 kobo from N2 per share, rising by N0.20 kobo.  
  • Thomas Wyatt gained N0.13 kobo to end trading at N1.43 kobo, having opened with N1.30 kobo per share.  
  • Transcorp Hotel’s stock was up by N1.76 kobo, closing at N19.36 kobo from N17.60 kobo per share

Top five losers  

  • Unity Bank depreciated by N0.11 kobo, dwindling from N1.10 kobo to N0.99 kobo per share.  
  • Japaul Gold also fell by 9.23 per cent to end trading at N0.59 kobo, after opening at N0.65 kobo per share.  
  • Veritas Kapital followed the same path, losing 8.70 per cent after trading hours, to sell at N0.21 kobo from N0.23 kobo per share.  
  • NSLTECH reported a decline of 7.89 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N0.38 kobo to end trading at N0.35 kobo per share.  
  • Cutix’s share depreciated to N2.60 kobo from N2.75 kobo, after losing N0.15 kobo during trading hours. 

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange  

  • Access Bank reported 74.60 million shares, valued at N1.13 billion, were traded on its floor.  
  • BUA Cement recorded 45.40 million shares valued at N3.86 billion. 
  • GTCO saw investors trade 44.83 million shares valued at N1.44 billion. 
  • Universal Insurance recorded 40.37 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N9.09 million. 
  • Ecobank reported 39.82 million shares, valued at N604.80 million, exchanged investors’ hands.
