But the last match between Togo and Equatorial Guinea was not without a hilarious touch as a spectator donning a special jersey with the name of internet poster boy and former boss of Equatorial Guinea anti-graft Agency, Baltasar Ebang Engonga whose leaked dealings with 400 women took the world by storm, became the cynosure of eyes.
The spectator comfortably watching and cheering the national team was himself being watched with some taking
his pictures with emphasis on his jersey which had jersey number 400.
Primebusiness.africa understands that some of the fans are making enquiries with intent to buying the said jersey if it is available for sell. The Nzalang Nacional who were impressive at the last AFCON in Cote d’ Ivoire will be hoping to better their lot in Morocco.
The team crashed out in the round of 16 after losing 1-0 to Guinea. One of the marks they made however in tournament was their surprise 4-0 demolition of the hosts and eventual champions Elephants of Cote d’ Ivoire in the group stage. The 24 teams that will lock horns at the next AFCON were completed this week with the last match of qualifiers.
One of the fallouts of the Engonga scandal is government order to have surveillance cameras installed in courts and ministries to combat “indecent and illicit acts.”
