Uga Boys Secondary School (UBBS), Aguata, is to get a major face lift that will see the school equipped with modern facilities it has been revealed.
An old boy of the school and current Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, gave the hint during a nostalgic visit to the school he attended and was pioneer prefect 49 years ago.

The highlight of the day was the unveiling of the desire to have s master plan to re-invent the school, providing them with modern facilities.
That was not the only cheery news for the students as the Governor promised in his personal capacity to pay WAEC fees for junior and senior students in the next five years, a promise which the students received with loud applause.
“I believe this scholarship will empower the next generation to fulfil their dreams and contribute positively to the state.”said the Governor.
Going back memory lane the former CBN Governor opined that it will be out of place to despise the days of humble beginning adding that the experience he got at his alma mater served a foundation to what he has become.
“I stand before you not just as your Governor, but as a proud graduate of this school.The lessons I learned here shaped not only my career but my commitment to public service and education,” he enthused.
The Governor prior to delivering his heart-warming speech to the school, had taken a tour of the school premises accompanied by his entourage that included Principal Secretary to the Governor, Barr. Joachin Anaeto, Commissioner for Education , Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, Mayor Aguata Local Government Area, Dr. Chibueze Oforbuike.
Others are member representing Aguata constituency one at the state house of Assembly, Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke and his Aguata constituency two counterpart, Hon. Tony Muobike and Chairman Post Primary School Service Commission, Prof. Nkechi Ikediugwu.

The governor after the visit did not fail to capture the moment in his Facebook post saying “Today, I had the profound honour of returning to my alma mater, Uga Boys Secondary School. Standing before our cherished badge, I was flooded with memories of the experiences that shaped my journey.
“As the first Pioneer Senior Prefect, I have a unique connection with this remarkable institution. I am excited to announce that Uga Boys Secondary School is on the verge of a significant transformation, as substantial investments are being made in schools across our state.
“In addition, I have pledged to cover the fees for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for students at Uga Boys for the next five years.
“As a proud alumnus, I remain deeply committed to giving back to my alma mater. I believe in the transformative power of education and want to ensure that future generations of students have access to the opportunities they deserve.
