On his part, Utomi, a Professor of Economics hailed Soludo for his policy of promoting local industries as a way of boosting economic activities of the state and the country in general.
He urged the new governor to always look for experts within the state or the country to handle projects first before going abroad.
“What the governor said is right. Whatever project the government is embarking on, the governor should first search for experts within who can handle it before going abroad to look for experts to do it. Now is longer time when government would go to may be Japan to get experts when it wants to do something when there is someone even here in Awka who can handle it. The governor spoke well, and I support him on that,” Utomi averred.
Bianca Ojukwu, former beauty queen and wife of late Biafran Leader, Chuwkuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu said she is hopeful that the government of Prof. Soludo will attract positive changes to the state and entire Igbo land.
Former governor of the state, Peter Obi who was vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019 election, said political leadership is about embarking on projects to build a better society and improve lives of the less privileged.
He stated that looking at Soludo’s background, he was optimistic that he would deliver in terms of tackling challenges of development especially in the areas of education, poverty reduction and healthcare of the people.
Obi noted that a lot of people suffer in Nigeria and urged leaders to focus more on working to improve lives of the less privileged in the country.
“If you look at what he (Soludo) said today, his administration will embark on projects that will affect the lives of citizens of the state such as education, healthcare, and poverty reduction. These are the most important things in leadership. Leadership is all about alleviating suffering of the poor.
