FORMER member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Nze Chidi Duru has described the Anambra State governor-elect, Prof Charles Soludo as a perfect person fit to manage the affairs of the state.
Duru stated this while congratulating Soludo on his victory at the governorship election which was held over the weekend and concluded on Tuesday with a supplementary poll at Ihiala Local Government Area.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelIn a message signed by Duru on behalf of Acharaugo Forum, made available to Prime Business Africa, the business leader, said Prof Soludo would do well for the state, especially as he has garnered a lot of experience required to address both the economic and socio-political challenges of Anambra as the industrial hub of the South East.
Duru described the governor-elect as “a round peg in a round hole”, and expressed optimism that the “Obiano-led Government of Anambra State would even begin now to leverage his integrity, intellect and professional expertise to begin to fix things very quickly.
“On behalf of Acharaugo Forum, I join the people of Anambra State to congratulate Prof Chukwuma Soludo on his well deserved victory at the poll and wish him the very best in the coming months.
“We must now put politics aside and join hands to rescue our state and rebuild the infrastructure that is required to fuel the entrepreneur spirit of our people,” Duru stated.
During the voting that took place on Saturday and Sunday, Soludo of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) had won in 18 out of 21 LGAs in the state, when INEC returning Officer for the election declared it inconclusive as no election was held in Ihiala LGA, and scheduled a supplementary poll on Tuesday 9th November.

The result declared by INEC for Ihiala LGA, shows that APGA scored 8,283, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), 2,485, while All Progressives Congress (APC) had 343 votes.

APGA 107,421 votes
PDP 53,102 votes
APC 43,327 votes
