Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has broken silence on his loss and that of his People’s Democratic (PDP) governorship candidate during the February 25 and March 18 Presidential/Senatorial and guber elections in Abia State.
Providing details for the first time about what he thought precipitated his defeat and those of his candidates, Dr Ikpeazu, in an all-holds-barred interview spoke of so many issues surrounding the just concluded general election. He touched on issues in Abia and Nigeria at Large and offered suggestions on the way forward to prevent system and technical failures in future electoral processes. He equally highlighted the achievements of his administration and where he believed he didn’t do so well.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelBut he specifically spoke about other untoward issues he thought made him and his party lose the elections. Recall that Ikpeazu had admonished the Labour Party candidate and winner of the Governorship election in Abia, Dr Alex Otti to see his victory as a call to service.
His call came as reports indicated that the state’s bank account had been frozen by court order, a development which Alex Otti’s aides said the LP and the governor-elect were not privy to.
