The Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN) has vehemently rejected the BBC documentary released on Monday, January 9, 2024, which implicated the late Temitope Babatunde Joshua, mostly known as TB Joshua, in various crimes, including allegations of r@pe.

In a statement signed by its Public Affairs Director, Mr Dare Adejumo, SCOAN dismissed the documentary as a “piece of junk,” asserting that the characters interviewed were unknown to the church.

The BBC documentary, produced by Africa Eye, accused TB Joshua of atrocities, triggering a strong response from SCOAN. The church, while acknowledging journalism’s role in investigative reporting, criticized the BBC for deviating from the ethics and fundamental principles of the profession.

SCOAN argued that fairness, balance, and objectivity are essential for journalism to maintain its credibility as the fourth estate of the realm.

The church accused the BBC of compromising these principles, descending into fictional narratives and propaganda, transforming itself into a tool for a hatchet job against a perceived enemy. SCOAN contended that the BBC’s offensive and disenchanted reports were insulting to professional and public intelligence.

SCOAN emphasized the indelible footprints of TB Joshua’s legacies, citing countless individuals worldwide who claim to have received miracles and benefited from his anointing and grace.

The church accused the BBC of disregarding the positive impact TB Joshua had on broken homes, hopeless children, and individuals from various walks of life.

The statement challenged the BBC’s investigative approach, suggesting that the network should have visited the church to experience firsthand what was happening, rather than relying on disgruntled and manipulated individuals.

It criticized the BBC for featuring individuals with questionable backgrounds and challenged the credibility of the documentary’s claims, particularly the assertion that TB Joshua was involved in abuse for over two decades.

SCOAN condemned the BBC’s tactics, stating that the sponsors of the documentary must be envious of the church’s continued growth. The church expressed gratitude that the report exonerated TB Joshua’s wife of any wrongdoing and criticized the illogical and satanically dubious nature of the allegations.
