After what looked like a century of discussions and months of uncertainty over his future, Egypt international, Mohamed Salah, has finally sealed a new two-year contract with Liverpool.

The 32-year-old who joined the Reds from Roma in 2017 sealed the deal on Friday, thus putting to rest uncertainties over what follows next following the expiration of his contract.

Salah has netted 243 goals in 394 matches, making him the club’s third all-time leading scorer.

He has won the Champions League and Premier League titles, and has contributed in no small measures in Liverpool’s chase for a record  20th title in the English top flight.

This season, Salah has achieved 27 goals and provided 17 assists in the Premier League, helping Arne Slot’s team maintain an 11-point lead with seven matches left to play.

“Of course I’m very excited. We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies,” Salah said in a club statement.

“It’s great; I had my best years here. I played eight years; hopefully it’s going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career. “, added an elated Salah who helped Pharaohs of Egypt qualify for the next AFCON to be hosted by Morocco in December.

Interestingly it is double delight for Liverpool as Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk is equally on the  verge of signing a new contract with Liverpool FC that will extend his stay at the club until June 2027.

Currently, van Dijk is valued at approximately €28 million. Throughout the ongoing season, he has showcased his abilities by making 43 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, starting in each match. His contributions include 3 goals and 1 assist, underlining his importance in both defense and attack.

Liverpool looks good to emerge League champions this season. The Reds currently have a commanding 11 points gap above second placed Arsenal, a near finish which guarantees not only league title but also automatic slot for UEFA Champions League next season.

Although Liverpool contrary to predictions, were floored 3-2 in their last match, a bounce back to winning ways is imminent as they host West Ham on Sunday at the Anfield.
