Table toppers Liverpool continued their impressive run in the EPL with 5-0 demolition of West Ham United on Sunday. The five goals were scored by five different players an indication that the Reds are ready to adopt mass defence and mass attack whenever necessary.

Colombia international Luis Fernando Díaz opened scoring in the 30th minute just as Gakpo,Mohamed Salah, Alexander-Arnold and  Diogo Jota took their turns on target in that order.

Liverpool ensured an overwhelming dominance in the encounter with 13 shots on target while maintaining 54.8% possession from start to finish. The victory has seen Liverpool consolidate at the top with 42 points in 17 matches played so far. They have also maintained a winning streak in the last four matches with 16 goals to show for their effort. Salah’s goal marked his 20th goal of the season.

The Egypt international has been central to this title charge, despite uncertainty around his contractual situation. He has already surpassed his goal involvement totals for last season and has more goals and assists combined (52) than any player in Europe’s top leagues this term.

Meanwhile, Manchester City returned to winning ways thanks to a 2-0 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. It marked the first away victory for the Citizens in six. Savino and Haaland were on target. Haaland is recording his 14th goal of the season.

In other matches played Sunday, Crystal Palace ran away a 2-1 victory over Southampton, Everton lost at home to visiting Forest while Fulham and Bournemouth settled for a 2-2 draw. Monday will see Chelsea visit Ipswich Town, Manchester United tackle Newcastle United and Aston Villa settle scores with Brighton.
