Guinness World Record may have ended the debate over who is the Greatest of All Time (GOAT), after endorsing Cristiano Ronaldo, following his achievement of 900 career goals on Thursday.
Ronaldo’s remarkable achievement of scoring 900 career goals garnered recognition from Guinness World Records, which celebrated the feat by joining the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) debate on social media, responding with a GOAT emoji.

The subtle gesture further cemented Ronaldo’s legendary status in the world of football.
Ronaldo’s milestone reinforces his dominance in both international and club football, placing him ahead of his long-time rival Lionel Messi and other prominent players.
Ronaldo reached the record breaking feat scoring a 34th minute goal in Portugal’s 2-1 victory over Croatia in the UEFA Nations League tie.

Speaking after the match against Croatia, Cristiano Ronaldo said (via Fabrizio Romano): “900 goals seems like any other milestone, but only I know how hard it is to work every day to score your 900th goal.
“It’s a unique milestone in my career. I don’t break records…they haunt me!”
Interestingly, Ronaldo’s arch rival, Lionel Messi is the only player closely trailing with 838 goals and need 62 goals to reach the 900 goals mark.
There are strong indications that Ronaldo, may increase the tally as Portugal take on Scotland in the UEFA Nations League 2024 on September 8.
Ronaldo may not be far from the truth in his submission that records practically haunt him. Recall that the 39-year-old Al-Nassr forward only recently launched his youtube channel called “UR” that practically blew the Internet registering 30 million subscribers in two days.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is also the all-time top scorer in European club competitions.
