The investigative panel set up by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo over the case of controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky, stopped short of saying he/she went on vacation and not prison on Monday in Abuja.

A member of the panel and the Executive Director and founder of Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action, Uju Agomoh, while reading the report on behalf of the panel, said Bobriksy enjoyed several privileges while in both Custodial Centres, including furnished single cells, a humidifier, and many visits from his family members and friends.

He said, “The panel also found out that Mr. Okuneye Idris enjoyed several privileges while in custody, both at the Medium Security and the Maximum Security Custodial Centres, which include, especially the following: furnished single cells, humidifier, lots of visits by his family members and friends as he desired, self-feeding, designated inmates to run errands for him, access to fridge and television, and possibly access to his phone.

“It is necessary to further investigate if the above privileges provided for Okuneye Idris were financially motivated and based on corrupt practices by correctional officers.

“The panel believes that the peculiar case of the inmates and the inmates’ physical look and behaviour pose a threat, and the lack of laid-down rules for the treatment of such a case may have necessitated such privileges to be granted to Okunenye Idris.”

Recall that Bobrisky was sent to jail for  abuse of the naira but a revelation of his days in prison that it would have been better to say he went on vacation.

The jail term and the luxury enjoyed would have gone unnoticed and unreported but for social critic, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, who had shared a voice note allegedly belonging to Bobrisky, who claimed that a “godfather,” alongside staff members of the Nigerian Correctional Service, ensured he served the six-month sentence in a private apartment and not in prison.

VDM himself was equally summoned by the panel to come and throw more light on his submission but jettisoned original decision to testify after he noticed that Bobrisky who was also supposed to be presence was nowhere to be found raising suspicion that the invisible godfather may have kept him away from the panel with no consequences.

The panel, which was chaired by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Magdalena Ajani, was constituted on September 30.

Meanwhile, there are reports that the controversial transgender has been arrested at Seme boarder while trying to flee the country. His/her nemesis VDM in a new video made the revelation even as neither the immigration nor other Security agencies have reacted to the information.

VeryDarkMan noted that the Nigerian Immigration Officers have arrested Bobrisky who is now in their custody. He also dared the crossdresser to respond and refute the claims.

“Bobrisky has been Arrested this morning at the Seme border while trying to enter Benin Republic to escape the current investigation by the House of Reps. He is allegedly being held be the Nigeria immigration…MAKE WE WAIT FOR BOB TO DEBUNK. Cho Cho Cho,” said VeryDarkMan.

In the video, he also alleged that Bobrisky hid in his car and sent someone to help him sign his international passport.

“Bobrisky was arrested this morning at Seme border post on his way to escape to Benin Republic. He sent someone to help him sign his international passport, and he hid in his car. The Nigerian immigration service is currently holding him,” he said.
