Prime Business Africa’s John Adoyi Selected For Tech Journalism Fellowship

John Adoyi, a mentee at Prime Business Africa, a publication of Newstide Limited, has been selected as one of the three participants for a prestigious journalism fellowship focused on Africa’s tech ecosystem. This fellowship, a flagship programme of Big Cabal Media, is designed to nurture the next generation of outstanding journalists in technology reporting.

The programme offers recent first-class and 2:1 graduates hands-on newsroom experience and mentorship from top industry journalists, providing a unique platform to launch their careers in tech journalism. It aims to equip fellows with the skills and insights necessary to navigate and report on Africa’s rapidly evolving technology landscape.

John, who graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in 2024 with a 2:1, began his journey with Prime Business Africa in 2022 during his mandatory three-month undergraduate internship. Prime Business Africa is Nigeria’s most trusted independent online newspaper covering Africa’s socio-economic issues, trade, and investment. It provides informed perspectives on economic and political events in Nigeria and Africa, offering unbiased, market-moving, multi-dimensional news and analysis from professional journalists dedicated to Africa’s development. Due to his fast learning pace and passion for journalism, John was retained as a mentee at the publication. Since then, he has written over 500 news articles, contributing to the growth and impact of the platform while learning how to be a journalist in the 21st century from seasoned professionals.
