Oando, Royal Exchange Among Losers As Stock Market Capitalisation Loses N141.32bn

The stock market growth was halted on Friday, April 11, as the market capitalisation dropped by 0.21 percent from N65.84 trillion to N65.70 trillion.

According to data from the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), the market valuation decreased by N141.32 billion after the all-share index lost 224.91 basis points, declining from 104,788.25 ASI to 104,563.34.

On the trading floor, investors exchanged 379.95 million shares in 10,791 deals, worth N10,10 billion, against the 432.56 million shares, worth N9.71 billion, traded on Thursday in 12,027 deals.

Top five gainers

Caverton’s share price increased by N0.23 kobo to rise from N2.31 kobo to N2.54 kobo per share.

VFD Group’s share value grew by N7.90 kobo, up from N79.80 kobo to N87.70 kobo per share.

Abbey Mortgage Bank ended trading with N6.13 kobo, from N5.58 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.55 kobo.

FTN Cocoa gained 9.43 percent to end trading at N1.90 kobo, having opened with N0.17 kobo.

Regal Insurance’s share value was up by 9.43 percent, closing with N0.58 kobo from N0.53 kobo per share.

Top five losers

Deap Capital’s share price depreciated by N0.10 kobo, dwindling from N1.03 to N0.93 kobo per share.

Royal Exchange recorded a 9.09 percent decline in its share price to end trading at N0.80 kobo after opening with N0.88 kobo per share.

Sovereign Insurance lost 7.61 percent in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N0.85 kobo from N0.92 kobo per share.

Guinea Insurance reported a decline of 7.35 percent from the previous day’s share price of N0.68 kobo to end trading at N0.63 kobo per share.

Oando recorded a N2.30 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N39 after opening with N41.30 kobo per share.

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange

Access Corporation reported that 73.22 million shares valued at N1.50 billion were traded on its floor.

Zenith Bank recorded 33.34 million shares valued at N1.64 billion.

Cutix saw investors trade 29.66 million of its shares valued at N63 million.

GTCO recorded 25.67 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N1.73 billion.

Fidelity Bank reported 19.64 million shares valued at N374.15 million exchanged in investors’ hands.
