Nwaneri Makes Premier League History In Arsenal’s Win Against Brentford

Arsenal moved back to the top of the Premier League on Sunday afternoon as goals from William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira in a dominant performance to beat Brentford 3-0 at the Gtech Community Stadium reports Prime Business Africa.

The highlight of the game was the introduction of 15 year-old midfielder of Nigerian heritage, Ethan Nwaneri who made history by becoming the youngest player to play for Arsenal and in the Premier League.

Cesc Fabregas held the record previously for the Gunners when he made his bow in 2003 in a FA Cup match against Rotherham when he was 16 years, 177 days old.

Injuries to captain Martin Odegaard and Oleksandr Zinchenko after injuries copped at the training ground ahead of the game on Sunday.

William Saliba scored the Gunners first goal in the 15th minute through header from a Bukayo Saka corner kick before Gabriel Jesus made it 2-0 from another header in the 28th minute which was his fourth goal of the season.

Fabio Viera then added a gloss to the win with a spectacular long range shot four minutes into the second half.

Arsenal players called up by their national teams now head onto the international break and will be back in action on October 2 to face North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur who are third on the log with 17 points.
