Nigerian Govt Unveils 160 Affordable Housing Units In Kano

The Federal Government has unveiled the new completed 160 low-cost housing units as part of the National Housing Programme (NHP) in Jaba, Fagge Local Government Area of Kano state.

The Controller of the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Sunusi Umar-Dange, highlighted this development.

“These units, comprising 1, 2, and 3-bedroom flats, represent our commitment to providing affordable housing solutions while ensuring necessary infrastructure for comfortable living,” stated Umar-Dange, emphasizing the collaborative effort between the Federal Government and the NHP to offer accessible housing options.

Umar-Dange further unveiled plans for Phase 3 of the project, consisting of an additional 100 units of 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom flats underway in Katsinawa, Ungogo local government area of Kano state.

The controller emphasized the accessibility of these housing schemes, outlining the process for interested individuals and organizations to participate in the initiative.

“We encourage Nigerians to engage with primary mortgage institutions to explore subscription opportunities within the housing scheme. These units are reasonably priced, and we’re open to facilitating payment approaches,” he explained during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Moreover, in a bid to ensure transparency and wider access, Umar-Dange highlighted the online sale of houses. “Interested Nigerians can conveniently view available houses across various states online and submit their applications,” he added, underscoring the initiative’s user-friendly approach to enable broader participation.

The announcement not only marks a milestone in the provision of affordable housing but also signifies a shift towards digital accessibility, simplifying the process for Nigerians seeking quality housing solutions.
