“So, you see, after some time, we will start implementing the provisions of the NCAA Act. You know, Nigerians don’t know there is compensation for delay.

“I want to speak for ordinary Nigerians who complain every day about delayed, cancelled flights. If it is an act of God, you cannot pay. But if it is human fault, the NCAA Act says you will pay. Pay them when you delay, cancel their flight.”

This unexpected move by the government aims to bring relief to passengers who have long endured the frustrations of flight delays without compensation.

Minister Keyamo also emphasized the importance of establishing effective communication channels for passengers to receive timely cancellation notices, highlighting a commitment to passenger rights in the aviation sector.
