MTN Foundation has officially commenced applications for its 2025 scholarship programmes, reaffirming its commitment to empowering high-achieving students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions.

This initiative continues the foundation’s legacy of fostering academic excellence and inclusive education across the country.

Scholarship Categories

Since its inception in 2010, the MTN Foundation has provided financial support to thousands of deserving students through three key scholarship programs:

MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS):

Designed for 300-level students pursuing science and technology-related courses.

Beneficiaries receive ₦300,000 annually until graduation, provided they maintain the required academic performance.

MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS):

Established in 2012, this program supports 100 visually impaired students in their 200 and 300 levels, across all disciplines.

Eligible students receive ₦300,000 annually until graduation, contingent upon meeting academic requirements.

Top 10 UTME Scholarship:

Launched in 2020, this scholarship automatically awards the top 10 candidates with the highest UTME scores as announced by JAMB.

Each recipient receives ₦300,000 annually from 100 level through graduation, irrespective of their course or institution (public or private).

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Institution of Study: Must be enrolled in a Nigerian public university, polytechnic, or college of education.

Course of Study:

MTN STS: Open to 300-level students in science and technology disciplines.

MTN SBS: Available to 200 and 300-level blind students across all fields. Blind students studying Law (a five-year program) must be in their 300 level to apply.

Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA):

STEM students (Universities & Colleges of Education): Minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (equivalent to a second-class upper division).

STEM students (Polytechnics): Minimum 3.0 CGPA (upper credit) from their OND program and must have secured admission into an HND program.

Blind students: Minimum 2.5 CGPA.

Click on “APPLY for MTN Scholarships 2025.”

Fill out the eligibility form to determine qualification.

If eligible, proceed to complete the scholarship application and upload required documents.

Review all application details before submitting.

Application Deadline

The deadline for submission is April 25, 2025.
