Nigeria-British singer and founder of controversial Malian Movement, AFeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, is singing Hosanna in the Highest, following his acquittal in court for alleged involvement in death of Afro beat singer, Mohbad.
Magistrate Ejiro Kubenji, who presided over the case, dismissed claims linking Naira Marley, music promoter, Sam Larry, Omodunni Ibrahim (Prime boy) and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde, to his death.

His statement via @officialnairam1 reads: “And whoever puts all his trust in Allah, he will be enough for him. (65:3).”
Followers of the ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy ‘ originator, estimated to be about 5.2 million, have hit cloud nine following the judgment, which has come to them as a huge relief.
His post has, however, drawn mixed reactions with his die hard supporters expressing relief at the judgment, while some who defer with his life style and outcome of the case expressed displeasure.

But there are some who are not ready to applaud the controversial singer in what can be described as his moment of triumph.

While Naira Marley and others who were acquitted are counting and naming their blessings one by one, same cannot be said of the duo of Mohbad’s auxiliary nurse, Fisayo Ogedengbe, and his friend, Ayobami Sadiq, as the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) has directed that they be prosecuted for acts of negligence contrary to Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law, Ch C.17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, was a rising Nigerian Afrobeat artist, who tragically died on September 12, 2023 at 27. His sudden death sparked widespread controversy and speculation leading to protest and call for thorough investigation.
Videos had surfaced after his death in distress, days leading to his death with allegations of bullying, threats and assaults from his former associates including Naira Marley and Sam Larry.
