The Minister harped on the need for both the upstream and downstream sectors to work hard towards boosting the nation’s oil and gas sector.

“We are ensuring a favourable business environment for the players, having implemented relevant policies for ease of doing business,” he stated, emphasizing the government’s commitment to fostering a conducive atmosphere for industry operations.

Acknowledging the role of oil marketers in driving the downstream petroleum market and serving the interests of Nigerians, Lokpobiri commended their dedication.

However, he stressed the imperative of combating fraudulent activities that undermine the integrity of the sector. “We must continue to foster equitable opportunities and nurture mutually beneficial partnerships,” he stated, urging the marketers to collaborate efforts in ensuring sustainable production and energy accessibility for all Nigerians.

Amid related news such as the devastating earthquake in Turkey and the calls for tax relief by oil marketers, Lokpobiri’s directive takes center stage, signaling a crucial step towards enhancing transparency and accountability within the industry.

With seven major marketers receiving approval to sell Dangote fuel, the spotlight on the sector intensifies, underscoring the need for stringent measures to curb malpractices.

The minister’s call for action serves as a rallying cry for stakeholders to uphold ethical standards and uphold the integrity of Nigeria’s petroleum industry.
