Meta’s Streamlined Monetisation System for Creators
Meta is making it easier for Facebook creators to earn money on the platform by combining its three existing monetisation programmes into one.
Previously, content creators had to go through different processes to monetise using in-stream ads, ads on Reels, and performance bonuses.

According to Meta’s official statement, the change aims to help creators access more revenue opportunities without navigating multiple systems. “We want to make sure creators have a simple, clear path to earning on Facebook,” said Meta’s spokesperson. “With this update, creators can apply once and unlock monetisation across various content formats.”
Over $2 Billion Paid to Creators Last Year
Meta shared that it paid out over $2 billion to creators for content like Reels, videos, photos, and even text posts last year. However, only one-third of creators have taken advantage of more than one of Meta’s monetization options. This shows that many creators are missing out on potential earnings because of the previous complicated system.

Meta hopes that the simplified process will encourage more creators to explore all available revenue streams. Creators who qualify for the new system can earn from ads displayed on different types of content.
New Features for Creators
To help creators better understand how much they are earning, Meta is also launching a new Insights tab. This feature will give a detailed overview of a creator’s revenue and show which pieces of content are the most profitable.
The updated monetisation program is currently in a beta phase, and Meta will invite 1 million existing creators to test it over the coming weeks. Creators invited to this test can choose to participate or opt-out, though those who opt-out may lose access to the original standalone programs.
For those not yet invited, it has provided a way for creators to express interest through its official content monetization page. More invitations will be sent out in the coming months as the program expands.
