France striker, Kylian Mbappe, will wear personalised face mask against Netherlands in continuation of the Euro Championship today.

The Real Madrid new man, trained with the rest of the team on Thursday, while donning the new mask painted in France colours.

After struggling to put the mask on, it was blue, white and red, the colours of the French flag, with his initials on one side and jersey number 10 flanked by two stars, representing France’s World Cup wins and the national rooster emblem.

Though the multi-coloured mask may have been used for Thursday’s training, there are strong indications that Mbappe may wear a single coloured mask during matches, due to UEFA rules.

Mbappe was injured in a collision with Austria’s Kevin Danso, in Monday’s 1-0 win, putting his future at the tournament at risk, but France manager, Didier Deschamps, confirmed he was recovering well and is set to face the Dutch in Group D today.

In other matches lined up for today, Slovakia face Ukraine, while Poland battle  Austria.

Meanwhile, Spain dramatically  joined Germany in the round of 16 on Thursday, after a Riccardo Calafiori own goal handed them victory on a platter against defending champions Italy.

It was a huge plus for Spain, who had thrashed Croatia 3-0 in their opening game. The three-time Euro Champions would have recorded bigger scoreline against the Azzuris but for a mix of super saves from Italy’s Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The result still leaves holders Italy, with work to do if they want to keep the defence of the trophy going and qualify for the knockout stages. They face Croatia in the last group match on Monday, just as Spain take on Albania same day.
