Market Cap Closes At N29.61 trillion, Nigerian Stock Investors Gain N20.35 billion

The Nigerian Stock Exchange reported N20.35 billion gain in market capitalisation on Monday, 13 February 2023. It rose from N29.59 trillion to N29.61 trillion.

It followed the path of the All-Share Index, which gained 37.37 basis points, appreciating from 54,327.3 ASI to 54,364.67 ASI.

Also, about N3.15 billion was exchanged for 140.84 million shares in 3,553 deals on Monday on the trading floor.

This was in contrast to the 175.66 million shares that were exchanged on Friday in 3,563 deals, worth N5.32 billion. 

Top five gainers 

  • Conoil’s share appreciated by N3.20kobo to rise from N32.05 to N35.25kobo per share   
  • MRS grew by N1.75kobo, up from N21.25kobo to N23 per share   
  • Chams ended trading with N0.27kobo from N0.25kobo per share, rising by 8 per cent.   
  • Glaxo Smith gained N0.40kobo to end trading at N6.80kobo, having opened with N6.40kobo per share.   
  • Champion stock was up by N0.28kobo, closing with N4.78kobo from N4.50kobo per share  

Top five losers 

  • CWG depreciated by 9.18 per cent, dwindling from N0.98kobo to N0.89kobo per share.   
  • Fidelity Bank also fell by N0.16kobo to end trading at N5.42kobo, after opening with N5.58kobo per share. 
  • NAHCO followed the same path, losing N0.20kobo after trading hours, to sell at N8.20kobo from N8.40kobo per share.   
  • FBN Holdings reported a decline of N0.20kobo from the previous day’s share price of N11.85kobo to end trading at N11.65kobo per share.   
  • UBN share depreciated to N6.65kobo from N6.70kobo, after losing 0.75 per cent during trading hours.    

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange 

  • UBA reported 28.62 million shares valued at N239.73 million were traded on its floor     
  • GTCO recorded 22.87 million shares valued at N575.25 million   
  • Access Corp saw investors trade 14.74 million of its shares valued at N134.23 million   
  • Zenith Bank recorded 12.59 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N319.21 million   
  • Chams reported 5.45 million shares, valued at N1.45 million, exchanged investors’ hands
