Homers Wolves scored two consolation goals while losing the entire three points to the visitors. The victory marks first Premier league win for Blues boss, Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea got off the mark under Maresca with a UEFA Conference League play-off victory against Servette on Thursday, but that low-key success was only the prelude to their goal spree at Molineux.

Maresca’s side made the perfect start after just 98 seconds when Matheus Cunha could only flick his attempted clearance from a corner towards Nicolas Jackson, who was left unmarked to head in from six yards. Madueke’s goals came in the 49th, 58th and 63rd minutes.

An elated Madueke speaking after his hat-trick where he got assistance from  Palmer, Madueke said: “It is unbelievable.”

“He is cold and I am fire, so it mixes well. He has the ability to always play a pass at the right time. I like to get the ball in space, beat people and make things happen, so luckily today it worked.”

Chelsea’s Noni Madueke was ‘made up’ after scoring a hat-trick during their win at Wolves and apologised to the locals after a social media post about the place.

He also apologised for his pre-match social media post about the city of Wolverhampton. “I just want to apologise to anyone I might have offended,” he added.

“It was a human mistake, an accident. It wasn’t meant to be out on my socials. I’m sure Wolverhampton is a lovely town, I’m just sorry. In terms of the boos, I expected it. But you have to learn under that type of pressure.”

In another premier league clash Sunday, Liverpool had enjoyed a 2-0 victory over Brentford Luis Diaz and Mohammed Salah on target.

Nigeria’s Frank Onyeka was in action for 17 minutes for Brentford after coming in as late substitute for Germany’s Vitaly Janelt in the 73rd minute.

In the La liga, Real Madrid new man, Kylian Mbappe, was in action for 90 minutes but not on target, it did not however, prevent Real Madrid from running away with a 3-0 victory over Real Vallodolid.
