List Of Songs Most South Africans Listened To This Year On Spotify

Spotify has released its “Wrapped” lists for 2021, revealing which artists and songs South Africans have streamed most this year.

The 2021 list is a celebration of “the millions of weird and wonderful ways to listen and live in a world that continues to keep everyone on their toes,” a press release reads.

International rapper Drake tops the list of the most-streamed artists in South Africa, with his song, Certified Lover Boy, which popularity extends further into Africa as he claims the top spot in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

The late rapper, Juice WRLD with real name Jarad A. Higgins, who died as a result of oxycodone and codeine toxicity, ranked second place.

Justin Bieber took third place with his song, Stay, Kanye West was fourth, and The Weeknd was fifth.

SA star, DJ Maphorisa, enters the top 10 most-streamed artists in South Africa list at number eight, making him the only local among the international acts.

On the other hand, local artists like Amapiano dominated the scene as the fifth most-streamed local artists in South Africa, Dj Maphorisa claimed first position, followed by Kabza De Small, then Busta 929, then De Mthuda, and Mr JazziQ.

Also included on the list is Makhadzi, who takes her spot as the most-streamed female South Africa artist in 2021.

The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s Stay is the most-streamed song in South Africa for 2021, followed by Tiësto’s The Business and Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits.

Local star Busta 929 takes the number four spot with Umsebenzi Wethu, followed by Olivia Rodrigo’s driver’s license.
