Lagos, Ogun, Yobe Governors Join President Buhari In Condolence Visit To Shonekan’s Family In Lagos

The outpour of emotions following the demise of former Nigeria’s interim President Chief Ernest Shonekan continued on Thursday with President Muhammadu Buhari visiting the Lagos home of the former Nigerian leader.

 

 

Shonekan headed the Nigerian government between August 26 and November 17 1993 before late Sani Abacha took over the reins of government.

 

 

President Buhari was accompanied by Lagos State governor Babatunde Sanwo-Olu to the Lugard Avenue Ikoyi residence of the Shonekan family.

 

 

 

Also in the Presidential entourage was the Ogun and Yobe state governors, Dapo Abiodun and Mai Mala Buni.

 

 

 

Buhari and the accompanying entourage arrived at the home of the Shonekans’ at around 4:40pm and were received by members of the late poliitician.

 

 

Buhari was also on a one-day presidential visit to Ogun State to commission some projects by Governor Dapo Abiodun administration.

The president sympathised with the family over the demise of their patriarch who died in Lagos on Tuesday at the age of 85.
