Notorious kidnap kingpin Chukwudi Dumeme Onuamadike alias Evans Thursday was sentenced to death four years after his arrest by the Nigeria Police.

 

Evans plotted and executed mindless kidnap operations which consequently saw some Nigerians lose their lives.

 

Nnewi, Anambra state born Evans who in the eyes of those who know him led a ‘decent life’ was responsible for the kidnap of the Chief Executive Officer of The Young Shall Grow Motors, Vincent Obianudo which resulted in the death of his driver in a gun battle.

 

Evans’ arrest was led by the Inspector General of police’s Intelligence Response Team leader, Abba Kyari who declared him wanted four years earlier.

 

Evans had a palatial building in Accra, Ghana and a home in Lagos from where he relocated his family to the former. He kept secret torture room in the Igando suburb of Lagos.

 

Uchenna Onuamadike, wife of the kidnap suspect hails from Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra state.
