Harry Kane made history on Sunday evening as he overtook Jimmy Greaves to become Tottenham Hotspur’s top scorer in history with his 267th goal in all competitions.
The goal was also Kane’s 200th league goal.

Shortly after Kane found the net, Shearer posted a picture of himself and Rooney accompanied by the caption: ‘Congratulations @HKane passing the great Jimmy Greaves record at @SpursOfficial. Also, @WayneRooney and I were wondering where you’ve been! Well done on joining the 200 @Premierleague club.’
Former Tottenham striker Gary Lineker also praised Kane on social media.
Lineker wrote: ‘He’s done it. @HKane scores yet again and goes ahead of the great Jimmy Greaves as @SpursOfficial’s all-time top scorer. What an incredible achievement. Well played.’
Spurs congratulated Kane on their official account. They wrote: ‘He’s done it!!! Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time record goalscorer!’.
Fans have also taken to social media to praise Kane following his historic goal. One supporter wrote: ‘HARRY KANE IS THE GOAT’.
