Jonathan Majors Convicted For Assault, Dropped By Disney

Jonathan Majors is facing increasing PR challenges as he prepares for his court appearance on May 8 for domestic violence charges. Sources familiar with the situation have revealed to Variety that multiple alleged abuse victims of Majors have come forward and are cooperating with the Manhattan district attorney’s office, indicating a significant turn in the case.

This development comes just after Majors’ publicists and management firm severed ties with the actor earlier this week. The Manhattan district attorney’s office declined to comment on the matter.

However, Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, released a statement asserting Majors’ innocence and providing what she claims to be irrefutable evidence that the charges against him are false.

Majors, known for his role in “Creed III,” was arrested on March 25 in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood on charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment. At the time, the NYPD stated that a 30-year-old woman had reported being assaulted by Majors, resulting in minor injuries to her head and neck.

Chaudhry immediately responded, insisting that Majors was the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows and suggested that the woman was experiencing an emotional crisis. Sources indicate that Chaudhry released the statement while Majors was still in custody.

Chaudhry’s husband, Andrew Bourke, is acting as Majors’ crisis publicist and has supported the narrative that Majors was the victim. Bourke released a series of text messages on March 30 that were intended to exonerate Majors.

In the alleged text exchange, the woman wrote to Majors, accepting responsibility for trying to grab his phone and assuring him that she told the police it was not an attack.

She also expressed anger at Majors’ arrest and promised to take action to protect him. However, these text messages have raised questions for many in the industry who were working with Majors, particularly regarding the woman’s reported loss of consciousness.

One source involved in an upcoming project with Majors described the text messages as resembling a “bad Lifetime movie” and indicative of a textbook case of an abused woman. The situation continues to unfold as Majors faces his court appearance and deals with the growing PR challenges and allegations against him.
