Adesanya is eager to re-jig his career after series of setbacks against elite fighters including Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis.

The 35-year-old hitherto dominated the middleweight division, boasting an unblemished 20-0 record along with multiple successful title defences.

However, in recent years, he has faced challenges, marked by defeats to high-profile opponents like Alex Pereira and Sean Strickland, leading to heightened stakes in his upcoming bout.

On the other side of the octagon, Imavov enters the fight with a solid 15-4 record and is currently riding a three-fight winning streak. His impressive performances have positioned him as a formidable contender, and a victory over Adesanya could catapult him into title contention, desire which he reportedly is eager to see come to pass.

This means that the fight is not only critical for Adesanya’s ambitions but also potentially transformative for Imavov’s career.
